Product liability
Even the products that we use every day can be dangerous. A poorly designed or malfunctioning product can cause harm. Work with lawyers who know the legal standards for bringing a claim. Let us seek all the types of damages that are possible in your product liability case.
Personal Injury Compensation
A personal injury claim arises when you get hurt, and your injuries are someone else’s fault. Many people think that someone else must hurt you on purpose for you to get personal injury compensation. That isn’t true. Many cases are based on accidents, like being in a car accident or being hurt because of a dangerous condition.
In South Carolina, a person, company, or other entity may be at fault for a personal injury. There may be more than one party at fault. There may be multiple grounds for fault. Compensation may include financial losses and personal suffering.
Hite Law Firm wants you to get your life back. Our approach involves careful research. We want to truly understand your story. We’re family-oriented, and your best interests are our main priority.
If you want to learn more, have questions, or want to begin, get a hold of us. We’re available by phone, through our online form, or in our offices. Personal Injury Claim FAQs
What is a personal injury case?
A personal injury case is a civil legal claim. It can give the victim financial compensation. The victim starts the case. Usually, the legal standard is negligence, but a case may be based on recklessness or intentional wrongdoing.
How do I prove a personal injury case?
To prove a personal injury case, you must identify who is legally responsible. You must prove that they breached a duty of care by acting negligently. Then, you prove that you are hurt as a result, and the amount of compensation that is fair based on your injuries.
Does a solicitor or prosecutor represent the victim in a personal injury case?
No. In a personal injury case, the victim may choose an attorney to represent them. There may also be criminal charges based on what happened, but in a personal injury case, the victim selects their own legal representation.
Will I have to testify at trial?
A small percentage of personal injury claims go to trial. We can explain the factors that may make a case more likely to go to trial. Ultimately, you may decide whether to accept a settlement offer or go to trial. Our legal team has had success resolving cases through both jury verdicts and settlements.
